2019: Year in Focus

We all have a list of our favorites. Favorite book. Favorite movie. Favorite season. Favorite color. Favorite food. Favorite hobby. Favorite child. (OK, I’m kidding about that last one...kind of.) But the point is that we all have things that we gravitate toward and find satisfaction from.

In our final issue of 2019, I wanted to take a closer look at what our readers gravitate toward in terms of innovations in the ophthalmology industry. What were the favorites this year? The result of my research is a series of articles that reviews the top products, scientific breakthroughs, surgical pearls, and ophthalmic apps of the year. Some of the articles are written by CRST’s very own editors, who have followed the trends of the year closely. Others are compilations of contributions from CRST readers who are kind enough to share their opinions.

Over the years, the editors of CRST have gone to great lengths to ensure that the publication covers as many innovations and breakthroughs as possible, and this year was no different. I have my favorite issues, of course, but what were yours? I asked our company’s analytics team to pull some metrics from the archives of our online issues to determine what were the top articles in and issues of CRST this year, and the results are featured here.

All of us who work on CRST are grateful to work in this industry with some of the most humble, brilliant, and kind practitioners on the planet. We look forward to reporting on more trends and innovations in 2020.
