Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Abu Dhabi and Emirates Society of Ophthalmology Partner

In Abu Dhabi, leaders from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology (ESO) gathered to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at elevating ophthalmic education, research, and clinical standards across the United Arab Emirates.

ESO serves as the official professional body representing ophthalmologists in the UAE, while Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Abu Dhabi is the first international location of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami.

“This partnership represents a significant milestone for the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology and reflects our shared commitment with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute to advancing ophthalmic education, clinical excellence, and innovation across the UAE," said Dr. Sheikha Noura Al Qassimi, President of ESO.

She added that the collaboration establishes a strong platform for scientific programming, professional training, and knowledge exchange—supporting clinicians, strengthening clinical standards, and contributing to the sustainable advancement of eye care throughout the Emirates. The scope of the MOU includes joint initiatives focused on clinical best practices, public awareness campaigns, and expanded opportunities for Emirati medical students and residents to engage with Bascom Palmer’s global faculty and facilities.
