A total of 66.23% US respondents
say that they would perform immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery if both eyes were reimbursed.
Although no change or decrease in volume was seen globally for cataract surgery, IOL implantation, laser cataract surgery, and ICL implantation, 33.33% of US respondents who routinely perform refractive surgery have seen an increase of up to 25% in LASIK/PRK/SMILE volume, and 16.67% have seen an increase of 50% or more.


US respondents report a general increase in the use of telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, most indicate that they are either somewhat likelyornot likelyto continue its use, once COVID-related regulations are lifted fully.

US respondents rely on federal and state updates,medical journals and publications, and society websites as their top sources of information on the changing COVID-related regulations.

When asked what marketing messages have had the most impact on their patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, US respondents noted their patients' desires to avoid mask fogging and to undergo their elected procedure before another potential shutdown.
