M & S Technologies, Inc. (Skokie, IL), added the Glare Testing System (GTS) to its Smart System line. The GTS measures the impact of glare on a patient’s vision. It was developed and engineered by M & S (patent pending) and Jack T. Holladay, MD. The glare component of the GTS offers eye care professionals an enhanced method with which to further test patients who complain of poor vision, especially while driving at night. Each glare assembly is calibrated to existing luminance standards for testing under glare conditions. The GTS is easy to install and uses longlived, high-intensity LEDs, according to the company. It is sold as an option and can be added to any Smart System in use today.
