E7002 Osher Sterile Field Magnifier

Bausch + Lomb Storz Ophthalmic Instruments (Rochester, NY) introduced the E7002 Osher Sterile Field Magnifier—an autoclaveable, compact magnification tool designed to be used in the OR. According to the company, the magnifier, which has a 50-mm lens, is ideal for loading IOLs into the injector and for aligning the irrigating sleeve on the phaco or I/A tip prior to use. The lens provides magnification that can be used for inspecting the tips of fine surgical instruments and ensuring that the phaco tip is properly placed in the irrigating sleeve. It can also be used to help the OR staff differentiate between microsurgical instruments’ tips.

Keeler Desktop Tonometer

Keeler Instruments (Broomall, PA) introduced the Pulsair Desktop tonometer, designed with the same technology as the company’s handheld Pulsair intelliPuff tonometer. The Pulsair Desktop’s X/Y mechanism reportedly gives the user confidence and control during the alignment process. Its clear user controls and a color video alignment screen with LED illumination are simple to use for both the new and experienced user, according to the company. The unit is designed with optical and sensor technology for positional detection and puff-triggering authorization.
