Anikavisc

Anika Therapeutics, Inc. (Bedford, MA), announced that Visco Technologies LLC (Kansas City, MO) will serve as the US distributor for Anikavisc, Anika’s viscoelastic for cataract surgery. The company has manufactured premium ophthalmic viscoelastics for Bausch + Lomb (Rochester, NY), STAAR Surgical Company (Monrovia, CA), and Hoya Surgical Optics (Chino Hills, CA). Anikavisc recently received FDA approval, and Anika has petitioned its regulatory body in Europe for CE Mark approval of the product. Anikavisc is composed of a highly purified sodium hyaluronate, which has outstanding clarity that permits an unobstructed view of the surgical field, according to the company. For more information, email Visco Technologies at viscotech@mpw-inc.com.
