TM9 Ophthalmic Procedure Chair Package
TransMotion Medical Inc. (Sharon Center, OH) introduced the TM9 Ophthalmic Chair Package for ophthalmic surgeons. The package includes the TMM5-TB stretcher chair, adjustable slope wrist rest, air delivery, safety strap, telescoping intravenous pole with four insert wells on the frame, O2 tank holder for D- and E-sized oxygen tanks, and a surgical support leg for added stability. According to a press release, the chair requires less space than a traditional stretcher and is easy to navigate in close quarters.
Brightness Acuity Meter
The Brightness Acuity Meter from AMA Optics, Inc. (Miami, FL), uses flood lighting, which mimics bright, outdoor lighting and light diffusion through a circumferential field, to diagnose and assess visual problems caused by glare. The instrument is designed to document the degree of the disability and monitor its severity over time.
IQ 532 Dual-Port Green Laser
Iridex Corporation (Mountain View, CA) has expanded its portfolio of laser systems to include the IQ 532 dual-port green laser photocoagulator. As the eighth laser system in Iridex’s product line, the IQ 532 has two new functions. It features a dual-port output, which allows users to connect a device to each laser output and switch between devices without changing connections. It also includes an intuitive touch screen and high-contrast color display.
PacScan Plus Digital Biometric Ruler
The PacScan Plus digital biometric ruler (Sonomed, Inc., Lake Success, NY) integrates Sonomed’s PacScan 300A+ A-scan and its 300AP+ A-scan and pachymeter instruments with new features, including a built-in thermal printer, a USB computer interface, an SD memory card port, and a highcontrast color LCD with a touchscreen interface. The ruler also has nine IOL formulas, the ability to program up to five user interface profiles, an auto-calibration feature, and a database of 10 lenses. Automatic, manual, and continuous modes reportedly allow users to obtain five individual readings within seconds.
