A New Algorithm for Diagnosing the Severity of Dry Eye

By Gerd Geerling, MD, PhD, FEBO, and Christophe Baudouin, MD, PhD, FARVO, on behalf of the ODISSEY European Consensus Group

Femto and Phaco—the Perfect Marriage

By Subba R. Gollamudi, MD

The two case studies presented in this article demonstrate how the synergy of combining some of the newest innovations in laser cataract surgery and phacoemulsification can produce a safe and predictable outcome. Pairing technologies can enhance safety by preserving the endothelium and zonules, reducing the amount of phaco energy used, and increasing the surgeon’s confidence and ability to minimize complications.

They include saved cost and time, greater access to patient data, more storage space, and more ways to organize materials. Meticulous template design and thorough staff training can ease the transition.
