The EyeQuick Digital Ophthalmoscope Camera (EyeQuick, LLC) is a portable ophthalmic camera that captures photographs and videos of the anterior segment and retina. According to the company, the camera, which has received FDA clearance and is now being manufactured, offers clinicians an affordable means by which to document pathology in any setting and on patients of any age or physical capability. Photographs or videos taken with the EyeQuick reportedly are instantly viewable on the built-in LCD screen and can easily be exported via the EyeQuick's USB port. The images can then be reviewed or filed in an electronic medical record or with an image management software package. They can also be printed for storage in paper charts or e-mailed to referring physicians. The camera weighs 13 ounces and is 9 inches long. AmbioDisk is a fourth-generation amniotic membrane (AM) technology by IOP Ophthalmics. AmbioDisk is a sutureless overlay AM disk for the officebased or surgical treatment of the ocular surface. According to the company, the AmbioDisk can be used for nonhealing epithelial defects, neurotrophic ulcerations, corneal erosions, acute chemical and thermal burns, and postoperative infectious keratitis (herpetic, vernal, bacterial). The AM disk is 15 mm and is available in both the Ambiodry2 (40-μm thickness) and Ambio5 (100-μm thickness) technologies. Each allograft is cleaned, dehydrated, and sterilized based upon strict, quality-controlled protocols and packaged with proprietary methods to ensure consistent, high-quality tissue for transplantation. All AM tissue recovered meets stringent specifications related to donor screening and testing.
